Grandma’s Puppet Shop has a family friendly ethos. We love having children come to visit us. We often hear adults warning their children before entering not to touch but we are happy with our little customers playing with toys that we have placed out for this purpose.. We are also accustomed to the child who not wanting to leave has to be carried out protesting.

Steve and I both raised large families so we understand that finances are sometimes stretched so we try to find quality toys at reasonable prices. We sell mainly traditional toys and puppets,  We have very little plastic always prefering the more environmentally friendly wood.  We also have a range of pocket money toys.

We are fortunate to be supplied with ice cream from English Lakes made in Kendal from local organic milk. We usually offer a dozen different flavours plus the option of sorbets.  Appreciating the expenses of a day out, our ice cream cones and tubs start at a cost of only £1.

Our tea and coffee is supplied by Kendal merchants Farrers who have been roasting coffee and blending tea since 1819. Chocolate, Horlicks, Caro and other hot drinks are also available all at a cost of £1.50

We have some seating downstairs but upstairs we have a large lounge where adults can enjoy a brew and a homemade treat or some freshly made soup while the children play. Great for mums to meet up with friends for a natter or somewhere to take pre-schoolers on those days when the weather rules out the playpark.
